great versatile monitor

This is a great all round monitor for the operator's workstation. The 27-inch screen is best for side browsing, but the 4K resolution really delivers when you need crisp text. I'll say this, I had a 27" 1080p and it's MUCH better in clarity even though I'm only using 3008x. The resolution is 1692 on my Mac Pro 2015 Retina. I'm sitting 28-30 inches from the monitor , and that's the "most comfortable" resolution for my aging eyes. If you're looking for a 27" monitor, spend a few bucks more to try and get one that runs in 4K. Because you Can sharpen text with a resolution higher than QHD which only does 1440 wide. The monitor has a power button in the middle under the Philips logo. It's one of those toggle switches that goes up/down/left/right I would have preferred the buttons on the bottom of the bezel or on the right front lower bezel but that's fine It doesn't have VESA mounts but you can buy a Gladiator Joe mount for it I just chose a 6 x 2 Piece of wood with rubber stoppers to raise it to eye level The monitor stand itself is very solid and made of aluminum so it won't wobble on your supposedly stable desk. I would just unplug the HDMI connector that came with it and plug it directly into the Displayport, which carries the audio signal. This monitor doesn't come with speakers but that's not a problem for me as the speakers in monitors are usually 3W and they're weak. No problem. Just connect your Bluetooth soundbar and you're done. The brightness is excellent, I didn't have to adjust anything. This monitor also supports color contrasts from 8-bit+FCR to 10-bit and only refreshes at 60Hz, not 75Hz. So it's not really a gaming monitor, but more of a universal monitor for one encoding type. I hope I never have to call on the warranty and also hope it lasts at least a few years before my aging eyes ask. I want to upgrade to 32 inch 4k :) All in all this is a great monitor for the budget conscious consumer these days.
