Review on πŸš— Enhance Performance with the Beck Arnley 044-0316 Automatic Transmission Filter Kit by Adam Jenkins

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I ended up buying the original Toyota brand as I feel it works much better. If only Beck Arnley used Mirco.

I bought it in May 2014. It has "paper filter" material instead of the original Toyota Micro Mess Mesh filter found in my RAV4. There is no leakage, as with everything I do I have always made sure the torque is within spec. However hard you want to tighten it, DO NOT. You MUST also use a torque wrench on my 2003 Toyota RAV4. 84" lb (filter screw) and 67" lb (flat screw). Haynes Service Manual I changed the transmission fluid and filter today after 30,000 miles (or 24 months) because I noticed that the transmission fluid looked a lot darker than when it was used with a genuine Toyota transmission filter in my 2003 Toyota RAV4. What I've noticed is that the filter has done its job, but I think it also builds up and causes oil to get trapped in the thick paper filter, causing the oil to wear out faster than normal. This time I used the original 2003 Toyota RAV4 transmission filter and o-ring again. Also use Toyota brand gear oil. I spent $107 with CA tax (transmission filter + o-ring + gasket + 4QT transmission oil). I tried this Beck Arnley 044-0316 because it's so much cheaper than buying a real Toyota brand. I ended up buying the original Toyota brand as I feel it works much better. If Beck Arnley had simply used a Mirco Mess sieve instead of a paper filter, I would buy this item again.

Pros
