Good starter kit but you have to know what you are doing
This is my 8 year old daughter's second embroidery kit. First I would like to say that the needle that comes with the kit is difficult to thread. We use the one that came with their first set (which we bought from Usborn). Second, the instructions are not very detailed. Luckily we learned from my daughter's first set. However, the design is easy to understand. It's a little disappointing that you have to constantly move what the fabric is holding and that you have to buy frames to attach the final product.
