Cheap inferior production!
This yarn is the cheapest low quality acrylic I have ever seen. The color appears drawn and doesn't spread across the strand. So if you twist it a bit so that the twist opens up, there will be no color in the strand. Also, it doesn't hold any stretch. I made leggings for the little one and as soon as she put them on the top cuff they stretched and slipped off her leg. I am an advanced knitter and knit every day with wool, silk, bamboo, cotton and various other blends, so I know my yarn. I would not buy it nor would I recommend it to a friend!
