I bought this sealing tool to replace another one that was out of place. Basically I needed it for the 1985-1999 FORD 5.0 engine. The holes in this tool do not line up with the holes in the crankshaft flywheel, although they say it will fit a 5.0 liter Ford they need to be ground to work. The supplied screws are also the wrong size and too short so you have to use a few different screws as well. The tool fits onto the crankshaft and seals it properly. The main thing when using this tool is to be very, very careful when placing the stuffing on the tool as it fits snugly. If you're not careful, you can roll, pinch and damage the dust seal lip, which is your seal's first line of defense. I place the seal on the back of the sealing tool for a few minutes, which temporarily stretches it, then flip it over and work the tool to install it. Once installed leave the gasket on the crankshaft for a few hours, I leave it overnight to allow it to come back to size before starting the engine. Be very careful with the rear seal installation and you may not be doing it again in 1000 miles or so! Follow the seal installation instructions for your specific seal type. Much luck!
