The hinges must be mounted opposite of each other on left hung versus right hand doors.

The addition of these sprung hinges to a pair of doors in a spare room created the situation where the doors' default condition is closed rather than open. With this modification, a small rearrangement of the airflow in the house produced a warmer spare room. That is what I wanted.
