Review on πŸ”’ AmazonBasics Adjustable Security, 27.5-Inch, Pack of 1 by James Duffield

Poor quality control

Pain in the butt during installation because the rotary arm that the arm attaches to was riveted crookedly. The bar counter did not match the back of the door. I had to use washers between the wall and the bracket with longer screws to run through one side to keep everything aligned. The rivet was also too tight, which limited the movement of the lever in the bracket. I had to apply penetrating oil to the rivet and do a lot of back and forth work to loosen it. The locking tongue is also of poor quality. Even if the tongue fails completely, my door will open about an inch, so that's not a problem for me. Can I recommend it? NO. Would I buy again? NO. It works, but I didn't have to get it to work. You may not have such problems, but I would buy elsewhere. This product gives Revain Basics a bad name.
