I will describe my case, because everyone buys for some purpose and I want to know before buying it will help or not. My goal was to provide good wi-fi in the kitchen to watch online TV on the tablet. Next to the router, the tablet pulls online TV normally, but in the kitchen it constantly freezes. The router stands so that a direct line from it to the kitchen is fenced off by the corner of the corridor. So I decided to plug a repeater into the outlet between the bathroom and the toilet. It turned out direct visibility of the router by the repeater (the signal on the indicator is maximum) and the repeater by the tablet. The first bummer - I didn’t automatically configure via wps (I tried several times, including resetting the settings to the factory “pin”). But manually using the same Wi-Fi through the tablet is also nothing complicated. In fact, just select your network and remember the password from it. I checked separately the signal strength from the repeater with the router turned off - average, noticeably weaker than the signal from the router (D-Link DIR-615 / A router model). As a result, the signal in the kitchen became strong, but online TV still freezes. In general, I did not achieve my goal, it got a little better, but I wanted more.
