For small jobs around the house, 1/8" bits are ideal for pre-drilling holes for driving wood screws. The only problem is that the drill eventually hits the ground and they always seem to land first. And it's annoying to buy replacements for $2.00 or $3.00 each [when a set of 20 is about $9.00] Therefore, bits have a short lifespan and eventually break.Construction projects. The last sentence was slightly different .I dropped the drill 3 times and instead of snapping off the bits they bent badly. This seems to mean that the metal inside is softer. But the bits are still useless as they now spin like little propellers instead only to break.
