Review on Delphi FG0053 Fuel Pump Module: Premium Quality for Efficient Fuel Delivery by Leo Puente

Revainrating 5 out of 5

For my Silverado 5.3 2000.

I literally just installed it on my truck. My original pump was still working perfectly after 170,000 km. I just wanted to make sure my truck stays that way. Move across the country every four years (next year). Also, my model truck is known to have an issue with the fuel gauge jumping all over the place. Fine. the task is solved. The "Low Fuel" indicator no longer flashes every few seconds. I read one of the sheets that came with the pump. It is very clearly stated that this pump is an upgrade over the stock pump. A large list of upgraded items has appeared. There's a better fuel gauge out there, so my problem shouldn't reoccur. Also, the different plug is one of the improvements that I think some trucks have struggled with. Replacing the real pump was easy and very easy (5 minutes). There was good instructions on how to replace the connector on the wiring harness. Even goes into detail on how to keep the same length of tether with the butt (not that it really matters if it's too long). For my special truck. The wires were the same color as my truck's wiring harness. Since I'm already making cables to make money on planes. I did the conversion in minutes (15 or so, slow and by aeronautical specs lol). The connectors are similar to those we use in aircraft wiring harnesses. If done right, they should hold up (like strong wire) and be airtight. Long vehicle life. I saved a few bucks by making it myself and even more by buying parts here! A+
