Very Satisfied: Pressure Cookers

This can holds: 24 regular half pints 16 wide half pints 20 standard pint cans (brand name) 16 wide mouth cans 18 standard pint cans (universal) 7 liters regular or wide neck 4 half gallon jars Dimensions: 15 inches high x 12 inches wide It fits my stove and clears the hood over it. It doesn't fit in my cupboards, even with the lid open. It takes up less space on the stovetop than my BWB can, so I have more room for other things. No additional shelf required for stacking. banks. Just make sure the second layer is on top of the strips and not on the lids themselves. However, I bought an extra shelf. The frame also fits my BWB Konservenfabrik which is great because the old wire frame is completely rusted and needs to be replaced. Canning Rack Reference: Presto Pressure Canner (50332) because I don't have a way to check my dial gauge. I relied on the regulator to ensure the pressure was constant. The dial always showed 12 pounds, and that suited me. Close enough to where I needed it so I'm sure there's a sensor around the corner, but I won't conserve without a regulator. It was really nice to be able to use the dial indicator and the controller together. Regulatory Authority Link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HMBVQ8/ref=cm_cr_asin_lnk. it was a bit difficult. I have had several abdominal surgeries over the years and have found lifting heavy objects difficult at times. I wouldn't want to pick up a tin can over and over again, but there are hours between downloads, so it's not impossible. DO NOT allow the jars to cool in the tin overnight. It causes flat acidity and it's disgusting. I'm 5ft 4in so reaching a tin can while it's on the stove isn't difficult. My mom is 5'0" and could do it too, but it would be easier with a small step stool or something as small as a couple of bricks. Since it doubles as a bain marie can, I'll probably get rid of my very old one separate blue-flecked tin can. DO NOT stack liter cans when using as a BWB canning. The instructions say not to process quarts this way, but this pot is larger than my BWB can handle. So use your own judgement. The instructions is well written and easy to understand. I followed them to the letter and had no siphon and all my jars were sealed. I've had siphon problems in the past and this time the only change I made was to have the kitchen windows closed. If themselves If too much pressure builds up in the can, the rubber stopper will pop out and release the pressure. No explosions, just a raw batch of cans. Use this tin can NIC HT on an induction hob. To do this, you need a pot that is either made entirely of steel or has a steel insert at the bottom. Do not use the autoclave with an outdoor LPG burner or a gas range greater than 12,000 BTU. The instructions warn against this. An additional "Warning" page is included in the instructions: Do not use the autoclave on an external heat source such as a stove. B. a gas burner of a turkey fryer. This type of torch softens the can, causing the bottom to warp. It may also result in property damage and/or personal injury. In addition, food must not be processed safely.
