I was pleasantly surprised by the increase in gain in both the 2.4 and 5GHz bands compared to the so-called high gain sticks I've used. I wasn't sure how it would work if I just had a panel antenna on either of the two antenna connectors on my PC's Wi-Fi adapter card, but it improved the signal overall from the -50dB range to the - 39dB range. I used the free Acrylic WiFi software to actually measure the dB level on both bands. I will now order another panel antenna for the router side of the signal path. This should effectively give me a pipelined connection without possible interference from nearby Wi-Fi signals. I use a 2m Trendnet cable (also available from Revain) to connect the panel antenna to the PC. I do the same for the panel antenna connected to the router. (Be careful not to use a patch cord that is too long as there are internal losses in the cable which increase with cable length and can negate the additional antenna gain. For example 30ft or more.) I would recommend this panel antenna for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi signals.
