Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Precision Self-Centering Dowel Jig Kit - Doweling Jig with Drilling Guide Set by Ronald Reese

USED โ€‹โ€‹REPACKED ITEM - MAINTENANCE Centering gauge

Seriously? All inserts were badly worn with VERY obvious drill marks. The corresponding bit sizes were far from an acceptable tolerance of movement, and yes, I even compared to unused drill bits. And the liners were in sealed packaging (no seal from a food sealer either). More on assignments below. The stencil itself appears to be intact, but it's not even close to center. You can see that the center (guiding part) is bent in the jig itself, the far left corner has less play compared to the right side, and the near right corner is visible slightly less clearance compared to the left side. If the exact center were used this wouldn't be a huge problem, but if you use the staggered holes that this clip uses the error is significant. The plates are definitely pre-owned and are not manufacturing marks (if you really think they are machining marks then please refrain from any project you are looking at.) is normal hole spacing for 1/4-20 ), meaning a jig was used to center a 1/4" GAP HOLE. If the size of that jig fits that size, then why does it say 1/4"? .388, which is a really big one Tolerance (not even remotely acceptable, within 7.5% difference) Inserts for a 3/8 insert I don't know if this clamp should be the nominal size (1/4 = .2500) or if it should be a snug one be clearance for common screw sizes. But either way, that's consistent and not acceptable to me..This product It's rubbish or there is no quality control.
