Not quite up to the challenge

I wish it was useful. I bought several different ones as I was doing a large dowel project. That was the least productive. I found other types from various sources and it was a good price and I thought it would do me good for large parts but it doesn't match the Trak. I had a dead square board and it didn't fit side by side.

Difficult and inaccurate

Self centering hole misaligned only 2mm to the side. Luckily I practiced on an unnecessary piece of wood. I tried to tweak it, thinking it might be an easy fix, but no way. I'm trying to return it now but found out I was 5 days past the return date. The clamp screw is very difficult to screw in to secure the device, but you need to make sure you are secure before attempting to drill a hole. The photo shows a device with an offset

It's just as accurate as you

Tried it by hand on a relatively straight piece of oak taking care to align the guides very carefully and it worked great. I'm sure he'll get even better once I get my hands on him. It took less than 2 minutes to drill holes for three dowels. Highly recommend if you are a warrior/weekend lover.

Pros
  • Easy to set up
Cons
  • I don't like it at all, it's ok

Not even close to reality

I thought I'd risk it to improve my project, but I quickly realized it was a waste of money. My first set of holes was far enough off center that I could see it without even measuring. Just to confirm, I flipped the breadboard over and put it back together, essentially doubling the error. You can see the result in the first picture. Not even close. I could avoid that if all future boards always had the same thickness and I always spoke of the same surface, but that's not all. is centered on the

Not perfectly centered - Off by 1/16+

Disappointed that it doesn't seem to be more accurate than the $15 HF version. The center lines (notches) on the sides of the holes do not line up with the center of the hole (see illustration and hole marking at right). Also, holes drilled through threaded drill guides are not centered. If you tighten the jig on the board you can see that it is not perfectly centered. It's hard to pull. It feels like the thread is rough due to threading. It seems to you that it is taut and weakens as you…

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Scarce manual

USED REPACKED ITEM - MAINTENANCE Centering gauge

Seriously? All inserts were badly worn with VERY obvious drill marks. The corresponding bit sizes were far from an acceptable tolerance of movement, and yes, I even compared to unused drill bits. And the liners were in sealed packaging (no seal from a food sealer either). More on assignments below. The stencil itself appears to be intact, but it's not even close to center. You can see that the center (guiding part) is bent in the jig itself, the far left corner has less play compared to the…
