Bought to complement a desktop PC. Having a good signal was a bonus, but I soon learned that all good things must come to an end. 1) The first thing that made people dislike the company was an app that quickly found nearby wireless networks. It's an improvement over the one included into Windows in terms of usability, information provided, and overall quality. But, because of it, the working window is constantly reset, and the only solution is to do rid of it altogether. Despite widespread use of the adaptor, the underlying issue persists (perhaps because they are unaware of it). 2) It was at this time that the network began its mysterious downfall. The procedure involved powering down and restarting the gadget. In rare occasions, the d-link router would work with all connected devices, but the tp-link router would not. The router may refuse to cooperate for reasons that are not always clear. Rebooting the router was the deciding factor. Overall, your best bet for the price; formerly, a built-in D-Link DWA-525 was included, but it could only connect to the network in a perfectly clear line of sight with no obstructions in the way. And every once in a while, they'd just come off.
