Review on 🎯 51-inch Vinyl Seal for Ventline BVD0455-01 by Sean Copeland

Old style roof vent Edition

I have a 1998 Sunline Solaris with 2 old style roof vents. The original seals looked their age but did the job well. I decide to replace the vent covers before they go bad and let rain/water get into the camper. I installed new Ventline BVD0455-01 seals. I installed a new Camco bleed cap 40168. These seals aren't as forgiving as the 1998 ones. I can't close the lid all the way. There is a gap on the opposite side of the hinge. I thought maybe the filling just needs some time to "form" and relax to form a good seal between the cap and base. That's not the case. It will NOT form a good seal. I cleaned the original filling. Put the old gasket back in place and gosh, now I have a perfect seal between the new vent cap and the old base. Both vents in the photos are identical except one has a fan. The one without a fan is not very visible. The photo shows a gap on the new cover and a new gasket along the entire length. I removed the new gasket from the fan and reinstalled the 20 year old gasket and the exact same new cover seals perfectly. It also had a gap with the new gasket. I would have to buy a whole new breather valve if my old 20 year old seal failed. UPDATE: I bought a complete Camco 40480 breather valve, 20 year old seal. It is also a slip loop. Why doesn't Camco sell these seals? 1 star because the gasket fits perfectly on the base. Minus 4 stars because it's unusable on my vent line with old slide loops.
