Review on 🚰 Plews Lubrimatic Fluid Quart Pump: Efficient Dispenser for Standard Quart Bottles by Donald Cox

I bought this with the intention of topping up my transmission fluid after dropping the oil pan and changing the filter on my 2011 F-150 which uses a Motorcraft Mercon LV. It was my first experience of such things; never used any of these. I had no trouble installing this pump on a Mercon LV liter bottle. Even with installation issues, the pump still works without a proper seal, which is a good thing because the best way to clean it after use is to stick a straw in a bucket of water and pump water through it. The photo is NOT true. The bottom of the pump isn't a flexible hose, it's a solid, straight straw about 6 inches long. The straight straw worked great, after tipping the bottle a few times while pumping I was able to remove all but 1/2. tablespoons of liquid. I ended up adding too much gear oil and had to pour some out, this pump did a good job with that too. This involved adding a 3/8 inch tube to the end of the straw, which is slightly larger than the tube at the spout. It took me about 4 minutes to pump out the entire liter but I didn't lift the truck, lay halfway under it and had to pump the bottle back and forth with my hands. my head with minimal space to work. I think if you had the right work station or better yet a lift it would take less than 2 minutes per liter. which I did, but again the truck didn't climb. It's easy enough to open up the hose and add a longer or shorter piece if needed. Empty the liquid in the tube. It doesn't matter if you plan on emptying the entire liter because when you start pumping air, the hose will start to deflate. Things can get messy when you have to check the liquid level halfway down the bottle to within a liter. What worked for me was that I lifted the tube as high as possible to get a few inches of clearance in the tube, then I pushed the tube in between the trans lines holding it up. No sooner said than done, I lost about 1 tablespoon of liquid between drips on the pan, floor and my hand.
