Revision: 2/9/21 I just downgraded the star count from 2 to 1. In the last 4 weeks our 3rd failed. Same problem every time the latch twist handle won't engage. ------- I am a real estate professional. I personally have literally more than 20 locks of this model. I've been managing other properties for about 10-15 years. They are used to be the gold standard. Unfortunately on paper they aren't worth their weight anymore and Schlage (Allegion is the parent company) knows that. I've just replaced a pair that lasted 4-5 years - I'm more than happy with that longevity. Some of these replacement devices lasted less than 4 weeks each, 1 did not work immediately. In fact, I have an average of about 50% failures on all new BE365s - that's a sample size of 8. On failed ones, the electronics still work, but the deadbolt turns and never catches the lock to open. It just spins forever. Historically, Schlage's customer service has been second to none. So I called her. I asked what changed - a redesign or a new factory? Let's solve this problem together, okay? I liked their product and I just want them to work. Well, they refused to tell me. But the CS rep knew 100% that there was a huge problem that Schlage didn't want to admit. They agreed to send me replacements for 3 locks (I have already returned the 4th to Home Depot). The advice was to put a piece of felt behind the lock to protect it from the cold. The? For real? I'm in the south - it's not that cold - and why don't they supply the specified felt pieces when they know it's a problem? 2 weeks later no replacement. I emailed Schlage and 24 hours later they said I needed to resend the serial codes (it had been done once before and they acknowledged receipt at the time) and to provide more information. Wow. I've already spent countless hours on it not to mention it's cost me $100 if not $1000 to block clients and I'm still getting broken locks. The product is now a 1 star product. What used to be 5 star customer service is now 1 star customer service. I will happily update this review if there is a reason to.
