    Easy installation, easy programming, easy locking and unlocking even for KIDS!

    After my ex moved out I wanted to change the locks. I just didn't want him to have access all the time! After reviewing various options, I settled on the Schlage CAM 609 Camelot. I was able to install everything myself in about 10 minutes with just a hand screwdriver. It is very easy to program your own 4 digit code and just as easy to erase the programmed code. (I find this especially useful when an ex has kids to pick up. I can program a temporary code for him and then delete it after he has…

    Great quality, GREAT battery life (see updates)

    Powerful and beautiful. This hasp seems to be of better quality than the kwikset keyboard hasp I have. I like the fact that you have to twist it to lock and unlock it instead of having a small motor move it, it seems like it lasts longer and the battery doesn't drain as quickly. It's a bit harder to change the code than any other electronic lock I've had. You must enter the pre-programmed code printed in the user manual and then enter your own code. Not really a problem, just more complicated…

    Revision: 2/9/21 I just downgraded the star count from 2 to 1. In the last 4 weeks our 3rd failed. Same problem every time the latch twist handle won't engage. ------- I am a real estate professional. I personally have literally more than 20 locks of this model.     A good product. A few notes on installing a lock on steel residential doors and the type of battery used

    Now I have three such locks. I am happy with all three. If, like me, you have steel skinned front doors, you may need to use a screwdriver and hammer to make a few small indentations around the edge of the outer opening in the door. This is necessary so that the outer part of the lock block fits snugly against the outside of the door. I don't think this would be a problem with wooden doors because when you tighten the screws on the inside of the door to press the outside of the door firmly…
