Review on Premium Full Tang Serbian Chef Knife - Handmade Forged Butcher Knife with Knife Stone Grinder by Ron Mohammed

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exactly as pictured, delivered relatively sharp

I only received this knife yesterday so I reserve the right to change this review at a later date. Consider my first impressions: It looks EXACTLY as pictured, including the light gray KNIFAST logo which appears to be either printed or lightly laser engraved. I'll probably delete it if possible as its retro 80s font looks a little out of place. The grip is smooth and fits the shaft well. Despite the heavy weight, the knife feels good in the hand. The rustic markings on the top 3/4 of the blade look exactly like the product photo and are even deeper than they appear. I like it. I was afraid that at this low price these problematic markings would be some kind of acid or laser engraving effect or some very light rolling marks. No, they are significant. The blade is relatively sharp. With a few gentle strokes of a cheap pencil sharpener (which I bought to get $25 free shipping) I was able to cut through the paper with this giant cleaver. I use it to easily cut the ginger into thin translucent slices. This is by far the sharpest kitchen knife I own and it is so heavy that when cutting most vegetables it takes almost more force to lift the blade than to apply the downward force required to cut/slice/slice is required. Overall I'd say this is a very good option if you want the ethics of a 'Great Serbian Chef's Knife' at a great price. I'm not sure if I'd trust it as a true cleaver or a rustic Old World "survival" knife, but as a fun and versatile kitchen tool it's good value at this silly low price point (under $18 at the time of writing). writing this article). It can become your favorite knife: it has so much potential. Now he's mine. Keep for updates. I will update this after a few months of use. Right now this knife isn't even worth what Revane is selling it for.
