Review on Enhance Your Jeep Wrangler's Spare Tire Security with Mopar 82215356AB Oversized Tire Carrier Tailgate Reinforcement by Carl Higdem

This is based on my experience only. Installation was very easy. Mopar's instructions were simple and accompanied by pictures. Very good! It already seems to add support for stay-in-place loops. Pros: It's OEM and Mopar made installation easy (I installed it with a Mopar tire mount for big wheels and tires). Cons: Torque settings seem a bit higher on the high end for hex bolts. Cardboard spacers are too weak. (It is recommended to use color mixing sticks, see below). After installing it I had to go back and use paint stirrers to lift it under the gate to accommodate my £110 spare. (I use 18X10 Fuel Trophy and Geolander 35s AT wheels totaling 110-115). The description and descriptions state that they can withstand such a tire weight. In my case, I then adjusted the orthosis. Not so hot what's up. Mopar includes cardboard spacers. In general while it works. Time will tell if it holds up. The only other options are to replace the hinge, like on the EVO, or use the spare tire mount on the bumper.
