Review on Gotrax XR Ultra Electric Scooter: Max Range & Speed, LG Battery & 300W Motor, Pneumatic Tires, Foldable Escooter for Adults by Lawrence Feldman

Revainrating 4 out of 5

good entry level scooter at a good value point

Good scooter for the money but clearly lacking features. For context: Daily commute for me since I bought it 2 months ago. I get 6miles out of one charge, and when I get home the battery is usually at one bar left. No range anxiety yet but nowhere near the advertised range. I do wonder how long the battery will last before it needs to be replaced or the scooter will be junk. :(Pros: comfortable ride, responsive, good breaks (a couple of close calls where I needed them to work well). Good price, especially if you get it on one of the sales.Cons: motor is not as quiet as I would have expected and brake also make a weird sounds. Cruise control works but poor UX in that there is no way to know you're in cruise control until you are. Also, the scooter will continue to show the cruise control speed not your real speed, i.e. going uphill it shows the same 15.5mph as it does on a straightaway when clearly I'm moving at a different speed. Front light could be brighter. No taillight.Overall, not a bad start for my first scooter, or as I like to joke the only EV I can afford. In the future, would look for a scooter with an app to get more information and features. I'd also go for a bigger motor and higher speed limit. As long as you're not expecting to be overwhelmed with features and excitement this is a good utility scooter.

Pros
  • The scooter is easy to assemble and comes with all the necessary tools and instructions
Cons
  • The scooter's rear light is not very bright, making it difficult to see in low-light conditions
