Battery life is an issue

So I got this scooter for Christmas from my husband. I live in PA and opened this when the weather was about 10 degrees and rode it during the freezing Temps (inner kid trumps adulthood any day, any weather).I read the reviews and decided to give you guys my honest opinion.Battery life: I managed to download an app which kept track of my trips. I managed to get about 11 miles in before I needed to charge it again. I must add, I live in a very hilly suburban area so the battery life does go down

Pros
  • The 17-mile range allows for longer trips without needing to recharge
Cons
  • The handlebars don't adjust, which may not provide the most comfortable riding position for all riders

Solid entry-level scooter with a few annoying quirks

We've had the GoTrax for a few months now, and generally have found it to be extremely easy to use, solidly built, and completely reliable. I've ridden it 13 miles with charge left on the battery, so the estimated range is pretty good. Definitely worth considering if you're looking for an entry-level electric scooter for commuting or getting around town without having to find parking. Just a couple of things that keep it from being five stars (which, to be fair, are probably "features" of most…

Pros
  • The textured deck provides a secure footing for riders
Cons
  • The scooter's tires are not very grippy and may not provide enough traction on wet surfaces

I can SCOOT!: my feedback

As a 58 year old, not particularly athletic woman, I was a little hesitant to jump on the electric scooter bandwagon. But, glad I did! This scooter was a perfect compromise between being lightweight enough to get it in and out of the stairs and front entryway of my apartment building (must be carried), and powerful enough to make it up the steep hills in my neighborhood. I wasn't interested in setting speed records, and the 16 mile range is plenty for me. I definitely wanted something stable…

Pros
  • With a maximum speed of 15.5 mph, you'll get to your destination quickly
Cons
  • The scooter's weight limit of 220 pounds may not be sufficient for heavier riders

:) Worth it!: my feedback

I often run late, so I’ve been wanting to get an electric scooter since last year. I’ve compared this scooter with a lot of different brands, and in my opinion this is the most suitable one. Its battery life lasts a long time, even after the first day I tried it out and didn’t use it for two weeks, it remained at full battery. It makes going places a lot more efficient and easier, so now she’s able to actually make it on time. There were a few things to note though. When first trying it out…

Pros
  • Multifunctional Console - The LED display shows current speed, speed modes, battery life and headlight. The headlight has been upgraded to 8.5 degrees irradiation angle and 26 ft irradiation distance, keeping rider safe while riding in the dark
Cons
  • The aluminum frame may not be as durable as steel frames found in other scooters

Brake line assembly challenge

Be warned, I bought two of these scooters and both of them arrived with the brake cable too tight to fully finish assembly or use the brakes. I had to use my own 5mm Allen wrench (not included with packaging) to adjust the brake line. If you've ever adjusted bicycle brakes, it's the same idea. They include one 4mm Allen wrench for assembly which is required for the handlebars, but the 5mm Allen wrench is not included. Other than the brake line problem, the scooters arrived charged and with the…

Pros
  • EABS + Disc Braking System - Features a disc braking and anti-lock braking system for a safe, responsive braking while at top speed. Front and rear wheels use 8.5" pneumatic tires make riding comfortable, even on rough road or bump terrain
Cons
  • The kickstand is not very sturdy and can easily break or bend

Christmas Brilliance and killed two birds with one stone.

First my son loves scooters so to imagine when he got this from Santa this year was the best. This got ax xr ultra electric scooter with a powerful lg battery 36v will go up to 17 miles. I would consider that long-range and it is very powerful with a 300w motor that can go up to 15.5 mph, and if you see it you would think that is almost too fast. So, we moved Grandma just two stops signs away in our neighborhood as she needs more attention so not only is my son taking advantage my daughter is…

Pros
  • Sports
Cons
  • The battery life of 17 miles is not sufficient for those with longer commutes

good entry level scooter at a good value point

Good scooter for the money but clearly lacking features. For context: Daily commute for me since I bought it 2 months ago. I get 6miles out of one charge, and when I get home the battery is usually at one bar left. No range anxiety yet but nowhere near the advertised range. I do wonder how long the battery will last before it needs to be replaced or the scooter will be junk. :(Pros: comfortable ride, responsive, good breaks (a couple of close calls where I needed them to work well). Good price…

Pros
  • The scooter is easy to assemble and comes with all the necessary tools and instructions
Cons
  • The scooter's rear light is not very bright, making it difficult to see in low-light conditions

Tires have issues, but customer service stepped up.

Fun to ride when operational. Light usage, primarily because of THREE flat tires! Terrible design. And terrible customer support, been sold out of replacements every time.UPDATE: Upon seeing this review, someone from GOTRAX reached out and helped remedy the situation beyond what I could have hoped for. So, I am changing my original 1 star review to a 4. The scooter as a whole is great and we love it (5) and customer support, while not great initially, redeemed themselves (3).

Pros
  • Its 8.5" pneumatic tire provides a smooth and comfortable ride
Cons
  • The charging time for the battery is quite long, making it inconvenient for those who need to charge it regularly

Doesn't hit 15mph as it says, caps out at around 12

My husband and I bought 2 of the larger scooters with 3 wheels and got this one for our 12-year-old son. It sure beats his 8mph scooter. We started hitting the trails and we can easily just zoom past him leaving him in the dust. We have to slow WAY down and my scooter shows 12mph even though his scooter is showing 15.5. It's defiantly not hitting 15.5. No way is it going what is advertised. We're waiting to save up and get one with more wattage power and see if he can keep up with us from that.

Pros
  • The sleek and modern design is visually pleasing
Cons
  • The scooter's turning radius is not very tight, making it difficult to maneuver in tight spaces

I got mine a yr ago and live in a pretty hilly city, I weight 192 lbs and the top speed on the computer is off from actual speed by GPS, and that 17 mile range had to be a 50lb person in the salt flats of Utah because I have yet to see over 10 miles on a charge, from one end of town to the other is not even 4 miles and I can already be down to 2 bars, granted its a pretty ready climb but then I come back and batteries are almost spend about 8 miles, I even tried to test at different speeds so…

Pros
  • I bought this for my grandson and so far, he is enjoying it very much.
Cons
  • At 31 pounds, the scooter is fairly heavy and can be difficult to carry around

Perfect quality on my review.

It's my first time to try the e scooter and this product really impressed me. First of first is its easy to install, many items are already assembled when it arrived all I need was to put them together, there was no need to worry about the brake cables and so. Easy to control, the accelerator only works when the scooter is moving, so to provide more safety. LED light screen is clear under sun light, the screen is simple to read.

Pros
  • Skates, Skateboards & Scooters
Cons
  • The scooter doesn't come with a bell or horn, which can make it difficult to alert pedestrians or other riders

Great purchase - my new review

Austin is amazing!I purchased the scooter for my son to use while away at college and last week my son noticed a slow leak in the tire. We reached out to gotrax and they were quick to respond and a week later we had our replacement.Thank you for the quick customer service! Austin was amazing to work with throughout this process!

Pros
  • Innovative Portable Folding Design - The Gotrax XR Ultra Commuting Scooter equipped with One-step folding system for portability. Aluminum material to enhance the stability, and a special Red Safety Button to protect the handlebar from folding while riding
Cons
  • The pneumatic tires are prone to punctures and require regular maintenance

Recommended: my feedback

The exterior is simple and looks solid. The details are well done, the quality is good, and the installation is also very convenient. Once you get started, you will know it. Safety is very important. The big wheels make it comfortable to drive. It is very suitable for people who are just learning electric skateboards. Press the button for 10 seconds to switch to automatic mode. My friend also wanted to buy this, so I introduced it to her.

Pros
  • Scooters
Cons
  • The handlebars don't have a lot of padding, which can make long rides uncomfortable

A great commuter scooter for the price

This is my 2nd Gotrax XR Ultra. The first one I got during the pandemic lasted me over 2.5 years and hundreds of trips taken, until the front motor wheel broke. I bought a new scooter from Segway (Ninebot F30) which had horrendously bad battery life (under 9 miles) and returned it within a couple of days. I went back to this scooter which I used to get around Manhattan. It's a basic no frills e-scooter and you can expect to get about 10 - 12 real world miles per full charge. It's really light…

Pros
  • The scooter's lightweight and compact size make it easy to carry up stairs or onto public transportation
Cons
  • The scooter's kickstand can be difficult to access, especially for those with limited mobility

Defective charging port

Charging port was defective/missing a piece. Had to pay for packaging to return the scooter. Return taking forever/still pending. So, as it stands, we don’t have a scooter, and are out $400+, plus the additional cost and hassle of packaging and returning. Not a great experience thus far.Update- The company refunded our shipping costs and provided a one year extended warranty on both scooters that we bought. They also hounded me to write this update and promised to assist in the future if issues

Pros
  • The electric scooter is perfect for those who want to avoid the hassle and cost of gas-powered vehicles
Cons
  • The scooter's footrests are not adjustable, which may not provide the most comfortable position for all riders

Very good e-scooter!

Very happy about the scooter! I’m amazed at how easy it is to assemble out of box. This is fairly light-weight, and can fold to store or carry up/down stairs. The speed is easy to adjust, and brake works very well. Very quiet, smooth ride. Love it!

Pros
  • Strong Power E Scooter - The adult electric powered scooter features a quiet 300W motor, boasting top speed of 15.5 MPH and max load of 220 lbs. Tackles steep hills with ease, making it a perfect commuting scooter
Cons
  • The scooter's design may not be visually appealing to some consumers

College requirement

My sons campus is very spread out and parking makes moving around and getting a good spot impossible. This has been a life-saver and saves so much time. Little bit of a learning curve at first but then it was easy. Like the fact that the batteries are in the post instead of the deck. Assembly was tricky around the brake but that’s what videos are for. Best of all, he simply loves it!

Pros
  • The Gotrax XR Ultra is suitable for all ages and skill levels
Cons
  • The scooter's folding mechanism can be difficult to use, especially for those with limited hand strength

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Steady as it goes good for me

I'm a city dweller needing an alternate way to get around town especially in the age of corona. After giving up on super lightweight scooters, I opted for this one. First off, while it's probably light for its class, this is not that light. It's 27 pounds. A guy like me can carry it with one hand but it's still pretty heavy. Pick up 27 pounds at the gym and you'll know how heavy that is. Assembly was a bit tricky as you need to connect the brake cable to the handle bar which wasn't that clear…

Pros
  • The scooter is ideal for commuting, running errands, and leisurely riding
Cons
  • The scooter's display and controls are not intuitive and may require some trial and error to figure out

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Lube the wheels! best in my review

Get Pedro's lube, let it sit 24hours, and see what happens. I weigh 200lbs and with backpack including hills in north jersey and through George Washington Bridge into Columbia U went 13.2 miles, thats right 13.2, with one dash left on the battery display. Hit 15.5 mph quite regularly. Sweet cruise control. Tire pressure at 50 exactly. Good looking. Wish it came with some suspension so 4.5 stars. Best value for the buck hands down.

Pros
  • The foldable design allows for easy storage and transportation
Cons
  • The scooter has a low ground clearance, making it difficult to ride over obstacles like speed bumps

Should have bought this years ago….

This thing cooks. No insurance, no gas money. Winsauce 360. I did buy a pneumatic horn bc the bell "ding” piece doesn’t work for me. If I’m rolling at 15mph GTFO of my way tool. Lol. Great product.

Pros
  • The Gotrax XR Ultra is an investment in a sustainable and responsible mode of transportation
Cons
  • The scooter's brake pads wear out quickly and require regular replacement
