Review on ☕️ Le Creuset Deep Teal Enamel On Steel Whistling Tea Kettle, 1.7 qt. by Chris Pollreisz

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Pretty but not as functional as the old one

For the Le Creuset price, I expect it to be beautiful and functional. We had an older version of this kettle, 6 or 7 years old, which unfortunately was left without water on the hob and was ruined. I bought this to replace it. It turned out to be the same shape and size, and the 1 4/5 quart capacity suggests enough water could be heated for several cups of tea. true life. One of the first instructions is not to fill it beyond a certain level, which is illustrated in the booklet. Since this layer cannot be seen without a flashlight, I poured the usual amount of water and brought it to a boil. While I was in the next room, it boiled and splattered all over the stove and countertop. So I took out a flashlight and determined where to shine it. You can fill it less than half, hardly more than a third. Despite the performance described, it is actually harmless to only heat water for two large cups of tea or coffee. Our previous pot that looked the same could make 3-4 cups. Once properly filled, the whistle worked flawlessly. It also pours well if you let it sit for 10-15 seconds before watering. The older kettle had a different bottom finish, made from a ring-patterned material that appeared to be rated for repeated high temperatures. It now only has a regular enamel finish. I hope it lasts at least as long as the old one. It sits beautifully on the stove. I just want the design to be 2/3 full. I highly recommend that you follow the instructions to fully boil and pour out the first kettle. The water that boiled away on my first (crowded) try was quite frothy, even though I rinsed it out beforehand.
