This is my first real experience with gel pens. I used markers for coloring etc. I saw on the internet that some people use gel pens so I decided to try them. So glad I did. I just love it. I will use them for scrapbooking and journals. I love all the many colors, especially some of the pastels and lighter colors. Many markers are so dark that they appear almost black. They just don't come in lighter colors. Most of these pens flow very well and cover well. And the great thing is that it doesn't bleed like markers. I didn't think I would like the shiny ones, but after trying them I liked them. I find them less glittering than shimmering. The only real downside is that some of them didn't want to leak or were scratchy. So I heated the tip of the pen and it really helped a lot. Some just seemed to flow very easily, while others not so much. But overall they work very well. I noticed that many of the pens weren't full as other reviewers have pointed out, but for all the pens you get for the price I can't complain. At least you can see how much ink is left and you don't know when the markers are dry.
