This puzzle feeder was the first one I bought, but it didn't take too long for my cat to understand it. It doesn't take him much time at all to get all of the food out now, but at least he still has to work for it! I have more complicated ones now, but I still use this as well. I would say it's a really good entry level puzzle, or that it would be good for a cat that is resistant to working very hard. Mine is young and full of energy, but this might be the most effort an older cat is willing to put in without getting frustrated.
