Hard to Clean best in my review

It does what it is advertised to do. Only one of my two cats was able to figure it out, but I'm not that surprised. (The other one isn't the smartest. Lol) my main complaint is how hard it is to clean. My cat is using her paws, nose, and tongue to get the treats out. After each use, it's covered in cat hair and treat crumbs, so I HAVE to clean it. This would not be an issue if the toy's material wasn't porous or if the design had so many small pieces. I like that the toy is made from…

Pros
  • Aids in weight management
Cons
  • Could be too slippery on some surfaces

Tiny spaces for the food!

I needed a bowl with lots of slots to stop my cat from scarfing her food and then barfing. This bowl fits the bill but it took her about a week to truly figure out how to get the food pieces out of the middle slots because they are a tight fit! Larger kibble definitely wont fit in this bowl. Its small and only holds about half a cup if that. It has slowed her eating so it does help. I have large fingers so washing it with a wash cloth is a pain but doable. I wish the bowl was made of a heavier…

Pros
  • KEEPS CATS BUSY: 16 hidden treat compartments keep cats occupied
Cons
  • Could be too challenging for beginner puzzle solvers

Keeps my elderly cat entertained.

My 12 year old cat has never really been very playful, but she sure loves hunting for treats in this. She loves moving the leaves and ladybugs around as she purrs like crazy, sniffing out her next snack.Only negative is that one of the leaves on the product I received is damaged and bent up, it is unable to be moved by my cat, so one section of the toy is unusable. I attempted to exchange it for a new one via Ebay customer support chat, but they told me I was unable to exchange it because…

Pros
  • Toys
Cons
  • Could be too messy with treats falling out

HAS HELPED MY GREEDY PIG OF A CAT!

I had great doubts about this feeder. I have an adult cat who will gorge herself until she throws up on everything in site. I have three cats and didn't want to separate them to feed them. I also didn't want to put the dry food up from the other two who have more self discipline than Doodle Bug. I ended up ordering three of these feeders. All three cats were a little disappointed that the food was no longer in a bowl, but by the end of the day they had all adjusted to the change. Doodle Bug…

Pros
  • Durable and two ways your kitty can find the treats; use the leaves or the slide buttons. Great product!
Cons
  • May not hold enough treats for big cats

not for my cats on my review.

Got this for my overweight kitty, hoping it would challenge his mind and keep him occupied. He was VERY interested watching me put the treats in and jumped when I let him at it. Sadly, it took him .5 seconds to figure out, get all the treats, and lose interest. Ended up returning. May have worked better if he hadn't watched me, but I doubt it. As soon as he figured out he just has to scoot things a little bit, I think the result would have been the same.

Pros
  • Provides a fun alternative to regular cat toys
Cons
  • Could be too light and easily knocked over

Great puzzle feeder.

This puzzle feeder was the first one I bought, but it didn't take too long for my cat to understand it. It doesn't take him much time at all to get all of the food out now, but at least he still has to work for it! I have more complicated ones now, but I still use this as well. I would say it's a really good entry level puzzle, or that it would be good for a cat that is resistant to working very hard. Mine is young and full of energy, but this might be the most effort an older cat is willing to

Pros
  • This does slow my cat down when she eats kibble. I wash using a long bristle brush so it cleans easy.
Cons
  • Could be too noisy for some cat owners

A good puzzle that my cat seems to like!

OK so it's a good puzzle, very sturdy, my cat uses it and seems to enjoy it, and it's a good way to give him a little challenge with his kibbles or treats. It's easy enough to wash by hand. There is one issue that is the only reason why I didn't give it five stars, and that is that his kibble has a tendency to get stuck in between the top and bottom layers of the puzzle (see second photo). I manage to pry most of them out with my fingers or the tool that came with my bread machine for prying…

Pros
  • Keeps them entertained and it is sturdy!
Cons
  • Might not be appealing to all cats

My cat loves to explore and get food from the toy

My cat likes getting food from the toy in small portions. Not hard for him to learn using the puzzle feeder following instructions provided. Sometimes a little food pieces may get stuck in the toy

Pros
  • REPLACE YOUR BOWL: Treat puzzles can be used for daily feeding to encourage a healthy eating pace
Cons
  • Some cats might find it frustrating

Cat Enjoys The Ladybugs

Our cat seems to enjoy the challenge of this puzzle feeder/treat toy. She plays with it by licking the ladybugs as well as moving the leaves and bugs with her paws to get the treats. It seems to privde good engagement for her.

Pros
  • Can help keep cats mentally alert as they age
Cons
  • Could be too rough for some cats' paws

Cute! Cat loves it!

Took my cat a while to actually figure it out, but once she did, she spends time off and on playing around with this! only down side is that my cat is a clean freak, so she tries to burry it after she's done. But i'd much rather that then her chowing down and throwing it up moments later because she eats too fast! this is definitely a good little game for them to slow down and use their mind. also good for cats who are annoying the day lights out of you and keeping them busy for a few minutes.

Pros
  • Can help stimulate a cat's curious nature
Cons
  • Might not provide enough physical exercise for cats

My cats prefer this to a simple plate of treats!

I didn’t think my cats would be into this. They’re used to getting treats on a plate without having to work for them. Sometimes one of my cats will actually prefer getting their treats by doing the puzzle even when there are more treats available on a plate right next to it. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how much the cats enjoy this product.

Pros
  • Offers a challenge for your cat to figure out
Cons
  • Could become worn out quickly

My kitty LOVES this! Highly recommended!

I had to let my two beloved old dogs go in April. Since then, I've noticed my cat showing signs of not only missing her furry sisters, but also being bored with no dogs to harass.I went on a quest for toys that would stimulate her, occupy her time, and provide a little exercise. I bought a red laser light that runs 20 minutes or so, giving her something to chase. I got a set of toys that dangle. Last I needed something to exercise her brain. She is very inquisitive, so I chose this item for its…

Pros
  • Fun for both cats and their owners alike
Cons
  • Could be too loud when played with

Good, but my cats make a mess lol

Better than a bunch of slow feeders out there, but my cats eat the wet food in such a way where they keep licking and knocking it over the feeder. For me that's fine though: I have silicone mats on their food area that are easy to clean.

Pros
  • Can be a useful tool in bonding with a new cat
Cons
  • Might be too dependent on treats

Good puzzle for cat, but treats/kibble easily get stuck

My cat seems to love this. However, the gap between the base and the top of the 'cloud' tends to make it easy for treats or kibble to disappear into. All I have to do is pick up and tilt it to get the treats to slide back out into sight, but it is a little annoying. Overall, happy with this though.

Pros
  • A less messy way to give your cat treats
Cons
  • Could be too difficult to store when not in use

Cat loves the challenge

My cat loves the challenge of the puzzle. He purrs when finding his treats. Tried it with kibble and that was too small. Treats work wonderfully.

Pros
  • Keeps your cat mentally challenged during the day
Cons
  • Might not provide enough mental stimulation for some cats

Fun way for my cat to "hunt " for her kibble

Because of the smaller size of the openings, kibble does not dispense from these toys as easily as it has from other kibble-dispensing toys I've used in the past (from a variety of manufacturers), so it took a few days for me to train my cat that there was food inside these plastic mice and how to bat at them to get the kibble to come out. (Training entailed my repeatedly getting down on the floor with her, pushing the mice with my own hands and also holding her paws to push the mice with her…

Pros
  • Aids in reducing food aggression in cats
Cons
  • Might require training for some cats to use

Kitten Loves It for my opinion

Bought this to entertain my new kitten. That's my review. He figured it out pretty quickly. Keeps him entertained for quite awhile.

Pros
  • NO REMOVABLE PARTS: for safer play and easy cleaning; never worry about losing play pieces!
Cons
  • Could become boring after repeated use

As described, well-made, but…

It’s a quality product, which is why I gave it 5 stars, but my cats are simply not interested, LOL! It’s just as described and well made, so if your cats like this kind of thing, it’s a good purchase.

Pros
  • Increases your cat's problem-solving abilities
Cons
  • Might require too much attention from cat owners

Fun to watch her work at it

My cat has gotten really good at this puzzle feeder. She really likes the Temptations treats I put into it so I think that helps motivate her to work at getting them. The first time I used it I put a treat into each cup and left them open for her, so she didn’t have to do any work really to get to them. She stuck her mouth into each cup and got the treat out easily. Then I put the treats in the cup and just covered them with the sliding leaves. I sat on the floor and slid the leaf back and…

Pros
  • Builds your cat’s confidence as they successfully solve the puzzle
Cons
  • Could be too distracting during feeding times

Great for my dog - my new review

This product is also marketed for dogs in a different color and for like $4 more. I purchased the ‘cat’ one and it is exactly the same thing. It works wonderfully for my small dog. Definitely recommend.

Pros
  • Encourages cats to use their natural problem-solving abilities
Cons
  • Could be too complicated to assemble
