2005 Camry in Timing Parts

Camry LX 2005 2.4L engine. The space between the engine and frame on the right side is very tight and the tensioner is very difficult to maneuver even after it is unscrewed. I did it that way. Jack up the right side of the vehicle and install the safety stand. Remove the front passenger wheel. Remove V-ribbed belt. Remove the top screw on the front motor mount (at the back of the radiator, slightly to the left of center). Place a jack with a flat piece of wood under the right passenger side of the engine oil pan. Remove the 3 engine mounting bolts on the passenger side (up through the frame). Jack up the engine until the center turnbuckle is clear of the frame. Loosen the remaining bolts on the tensioner (you can jack it up higher if needed). Replace tensioner. The higher the engine, the easier it will be to route and install the tensioner belt. Slowly lower the engine, making sure the 3 engine mounting bolts are seated in the frame. If necessary, use a conical punch to align the front motor mount bolt hole. Tighten all engine mounting bolts.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about it, everything is fine
