If you use Kodi, you need Digi+ Pro. If you are watching Hi-Def content encoded with Dolby (Digital 5.1, 7.1, D+) or DTS audio, the Rpi will not natively pass this multi-channel encoding to your receiver. Digi+ Pro is the answer! I'm using Rpi 3 and Openelec Kodi 8 which includes native Digi+ support. Just turn off your Rpi, turn on Digi+, start it, go to your output device settings, select an ALSA (Digi) capable device, enable audio transmission (make sure you have all Dolby select options) and you're in home theater nirvana. . I really love this product and wish I had found it sooner.
