This part allowed me to use a youtube self repair video. Remote opening works now, trunk lock works, everything works. This part failed due to a Cadillac defect which caused the sunroof to leak into the trunk and the part to come out. My auto repair shop said they wouldn't even touch it due to the complexity of the repair, so I took it to the dealership and got an estimate of $3,000. I waited about a year to try it because I don't like messing around with my car, but eventually I got fed up with it not working so I decided to give it a try. I can't believe how easy it was and how quick! The first day the remote opening didn't work. Only the latch is open but I was glad to have access to my trunk after all this time! The next day the remote control opened my trunk! The button to close the trunk still doesn't work so I might investigate that next time lol.
