Review on ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Magellan RoadMate 2200T: Reliable 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator by Chris Dildine

Good, but could be better

I bought my instrument before Christmas. Since then I have made several trips. Longest from Pennsylvania to Georgia. In almost all cases the GPS worked very well. Good text-to-speech function, but the pronunciation takes some getting used to. I came across a block. In fact, it behaved as if the processor was stuck in a loop and unable to process satellite information. Restarting the GPS solved the problem. I also ran into a time where it calculated a very wrong direction. Otherwise the device was correct with the instructions. The image stream was very slow when the files were larger than one megabyte. The MP3 player worked well but not when navigating. Satellite fixes were usually quick, within a minute. He would even lock my house. For all the time I've used it, he's never lost the lock after acquiring it. The recount was quick enough, but often gave instructions to make a U-turn. I liked the display of POIs on the map and the ability to click on the icon for information. I also liked the exit POI, which gave you the POIs at the next motorway exits. The trip planner worked well too. The interface is cumbersome and could be simplified. There is no on-screen volume control. The display and information are very good. I am satisfied with the device, although I would like to see improvements. For the money this is good value for money. POIs are weird. My department had a restaurant that wasn't on a Garmin device with 6 million POIs. If you view them on the navigation screen, you can see how many of them are missing. Very good.
