Didn't work with my Yamaha AVR so it shouldn't be compatible with older codecs or anything like that. To make sure it works and isn't completely broken, I plugged it directly into the TV. May need a mouse all the time as I couldn't find a way to change the display scheme to show a cursor or highlighted selection. It's really hard to tell where it's pointing or trying to point to Google Play to add apps for example, it was basically a guessing game. I was trying to replace my Shield TV which broke over the weekend. My old Fire Stick is more convenient to use, albeit much slower.
