Review on TOPDC Booster Jumper Cables πŸ”Œ - Optimal Gauge for Enhanced Performance by Luca Washington

Revainrating 4 out of 5

We start cars, we don't power malls

I really like these jumper cables. I've only had it for a week or so so I don't know how long the bag will last or what the life expectancy will be. I'm sure they'll outlive me, although there are many small conductors that make up 4 AWG wire, so the wire is very flexible (so you can safely ignore another review that says there aren't any 4 AWG wire). They're copper clad aluminum and I know a lot of people (I think they) are disgusted with them. but aluminum conducts almost as well as copper (well, 61%, 0.4 MΞ©/ft for 4 AWG, 0.4 MΞ©/ft x 20 ft = 8 ohms for alum, not 5 ohms for copper. 3 ohms for 20 feet isn't much of a difference.), and the fairing should keep the aluminum from oxidizing. No problem for me, actually a feature. and aluminum is cheaper. We launch cars folks, we don't run malls. there is a bit of a vinyl smell - i hope it goes away though - maybe i'll put them outside in the sun to burn out some volatiles :-) the connection with the clips looks pretty good and the clips are solid but wide open to the larger terminals for batteries. I think they will do great. UPDATE (8/20): Well I've only used these cables once in the last 7 months to start my car. They worked like a charm. the tote held up well enough and rattled at the back. no corrosion, no problems at all. UPDATE (04/21): I've used them several times now on other people's mowers, bikes and cars. the vinyl smell is completely gone, the bag is intact and the cables/clamps are like new. if you doubt it, don't doubt it - just do it.
