I chose this model over the RAM mount as there seems to be a surge in counterfeiting on RAM mount deals and it's $40 cheaper. The mounting part (which holds your phone) is plastic, for the price I think most of that has gone into the metal clip that attaches to the steering wheel. Ideally it should be metal too, but price wise I can see why it's not ideal. For a Note9 with a case, it's a little tight on the rubber grip that locks the corners. I'd say a smaller phone would probably suffice, but larger phones beware. The real test will be a couple of rides, hopefully everything will hold together. The only details that bother me are everything that's plastic, I wish the whole set was metal.
