Review on Trupow PP Hand Rotary Transfer Drum Barrel Pump by Bob Schultz

Wrong thread on keg lid

To my disappointment I found that the black plastic plug that the suction tube goes through was not the right thread for the keg. Although the keg (55 gallon blue plastic) has two holes in the top (regular and fine thread), the plug that came with it didn't fit either. The thin thread on the cork was the wrong pitch. You can see the wrong cork (black) in my photo with a cork that I had to adjust (red) to fit the drum. I tried three different kegs to make sure the cork that came with the pump wasn't done right. It is also important to note that the outlet tube at the top of the pump has a barb that requires a 1 inch ID hose and hose clamp. . There is no easy way to connect a threaded fitting to downsize a hose. I had to change from 1" to 1/2" tubing and had a lot of trouble finding the parts I needed locally.
