Works great! I've been using it for 3 months now and it works exactly as you would expect. Pros: Overall, it's easy to install and the included instructions are easy to follow. I think it took me less than an hour overall (and it takes my time with a few beers). Along with the covered cover, this easily adds good security (should have been factory installed in the first place!). It's not perfect, but it's enough that most thieves will likely move on to an easier target than messing with it. Cons: While this adds a very good level of security, it's not 100% perfect. The wires are pretty much invisible, but they can be found if a thief wants to search for them. The popper holds tight too, but still uses the factory plastic handle that still feels like it could be broken cleanly with a strong hand. Whether the gate opens by breaking the handle or not I don't know, but still. Of course, nothing can be absolutely certain. After all, any thief determined enough to break in would probably make it a lot easier by simply sticking a brick in your window. . But that strong "knock" from behind is quite reassuring when I leave my valuables somewhere. Installing a button means opening the tailgate trim (a couple of screws in there, a no-brainer) and attaching the thing to the trunk. factory handle. Then all you have to do is run the cable up the frame rails, through the firewall into the cabin and connect it to the factory cables behind the step bar. Other users say that the cable colors described in the instructions do not match their truck. I have 06, everything came up. If I remember correctly it was a green wire and a brown/pink wire. When I first put them on I did it backwards (the release button locked it, the lock button unlocked it) so I just unplugged and flipped it and everything was perfect. Highly recommended!
