I purchased the WAP11 and WUSB11 wireless adapter and found the initial setup to be very easy and reliable. I can get a 'great' connection (11Mbps) downstairs (about 20ft from WAP11) and find an internet and network connection upstairs with speeds similar to my wired system. Very good facilities. One thing that all potential buyers should be aware of is that this product cannot go through the required 128-bit encryption data stream that several e-commerce sites require. Online banking and credit card access are not possible. A recent firmware update should support 128-bit support, but the installation process for that isn't very good. In fact, Linksys released a new firmware on 6/22/01 and replaced the file with another utility the next day. The firmware update failed several times after 56% and caused the EPROM to get messed up. After many hours of trying, I was finally able to get the thing working again. Now I can input a 128-bit data stream. However, after powering off and restarting, the USB adapter cannot connect at 128 bit. This firmware needs improvement, and the connection for 128-bit encryption should be more stable and reliable. If you don't need 128-bit encryption, this is the perfect wireless solution.
