My Dodge Journey needs a pinch weld to be drilled. There's no way around it. Also the picture is not what you will get. This is a standard photo for a different car. You will only receive 4 brackets, two on each side for the Dodge Journey. The welding point must be drilled. Impossible to drill the exact spot. on the other hand. So your bracket placement isn't symmetrical in relation to the machine, but it's ok if you place the side step equally on either side. I used a Ryobi 18v drill bit with titanium bits and went through pinch welding. Since I didn't have a powerful drill, I first used a small drill and gradually increased the size of the drill until I got the hole size I wanted. (It took forever).
