Immediate acceleration improvement. Not harsh, but like you lifted the gas pedal 1/2 inch. The difference is noticeable, but I didn't notice any noticeable change in fuel economy. Good product and will save money in the long run as I keep my cars over 200,000 miles. I've read that they don't filter as much as a paper filter. This means they have better airflow. However, after they get dirty, they slow down the airflow and, to be honest, filter more in the noise. Have used K&N filters on multiple vehicles for over 15 years and each engine has clocked 200,000 miles. I hope this new diesel will run 400,000.
