Quality, Backlight, Status LED, Auto Lock Option, Security Block

Significantly improved over our previous combo latch. (See photo) The footprint is smaller so I had to sand and repaint the area prior to installation but I like this unit. The backlit keyboard is a great feature. It only lights up when you press the lock button first. So if you don't press the backlit keyboard, the battery won't drain. There's even an LED that shows the status of the lock in the house. green = unlocked; red = blocked. There is no need to memorize the position of the handle or manually check the door. The bolt action is double that of our previous lock. The lock time is 1 minute instead of 5 minutes and it doesn't happen up to 3 failed combo entries, not up to a bug in our old model. Combined programming is easy and offers excellent security. The user can even choose to lock the door automatically (after 30 seconds). The only claim to the smart key. Our old locks have this feature and I love it, but this time I'm having trouble. Our attempt to recode it to match other door keys was unsuccessful and neither our key nor the key paired with the device worked. I contacted support and they suggested: 1) I go to a hardware store to borrow a flashing device; or 2) send me a new cylinder and set of keys. I chose the latter as both methods require disassembly/reassembly. It doesn't take two visits to the hardware store (pickup/return) to get a new set of cylinders/keys. The finish on this unit is rich and everything but the decorative inner panel has the significant weight you would expect from high quality. I am looking to replace our other two combination locks on our pool doors with this much improved lock.
