Buyers beware of power converters

I bought 4 of these converters for a small project. 12 volts, load approx. 300 mA (0.3 A). It couldn't handle a 12 volt output at that load, and they should be 1 amp. They only support 12V to 150mA and then the voltage starts to drop. At 400mA the voltage drops to 0. After looking at the design I understood why. You put a 20uF filter cap between the rectifier and the 7812 regulator. I added a 470uF capacitor on the back of the board and now I can get 0.5 amps at a stable voltage.
