Review on Fel Pro OS30743R Oil Pan Gasket by Chris Nastanovich

Send the used gasket to the fist. Then I ordered a brand new one

Update: 06/21/2022 Sent the old one back and ordered a new one. There are new ones this time. This work was not easy. I highly recommend paying a professional to do this. Don't get me wrong, I've had good experiences. Do it yourself but this one was tough. To explain why it's difficult. These seals have been known to melt on the pallet. You will most likely need to slowly beat it into the pan. DO NOT tear off. The gasket is held in place with two nuts and one bolt that hold the oil pickup tube in place. Make sure you are between the oil pan and the gasket when chiseling, as you don't want to scratch the engine block. Take your time. This should be done as carefully as possible to ensure you have a good gasket when fitting the new one. You need a set of tools. 1/4" ratchet with 3" extension. Both short and deep heads at 10mm. The same applies to the 3/8 inch size. I also recommend jacking up the car, removing the two 18mm screws from the base and lowering the crossbar to have more room as you don't have much room to work with lowering the crossbar to accommodate the last two obtain 10 mm pans. Bolt off I also recommend this if you need to change your oil, it makes things easier I think. If you're poor like me, take your time. It will take all day, maybe two. For me it was 3 but that's because I accidentally bent the dipstick and it was sticking out of the end of the pan and I had to undo all the work. So start early, take your time, and it should be pretty easy. I also have a rear-wheel drive Grand Cherokee, so I didn't have a front differential, which makes things easier since they don't own it. If you have a 4x4 it is highly recommended to have it done at a workshop. You save yourself a huge task and potential headache. I hope this helps anyone reading this. The feed was also of good quality. Would buy again. I bought this for my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 3.7L V6. To my disappointment after receiving the seal. You can tell us it has been used and returned. Never wiped. Was yellow with oil and still had engine oil on it. I bought another one and will report when I get a new one in a few days. The product seemed strong but I hope the new one will be even better.

Pros
  • I keep my fingers crossed
Cons
  • A lot
