Got a wireless CarPlay head unit as soon as Alpine offered it - I've used it for almost a year and loved it. I bought a new car in early 2019 and like so many others it only supported wired CarPlay. Wireless CarPlay is important to me for a variety of reasons, none of which are relevant to this review, but if it's important to you, my review might be helpful. There are multiple offerings of wired and wireless CarPlay adapters in this market. Many of them are actually the same device, just labeled differently. This device is different - it has better hardware (faster processor and more RAM) and I believe it runs on Android as the primary operating system. It does what it says on the tin - wireless CarPlay in my car that only supports wired CarPlay. Everything works as it should - Apple Maps, Google Maps, music, podcasts, Siri, navigation with Siri, etc. This model doesn't have the disadvantages I experienced with a competitor model for 12 months before buying it. No freezes, no automatic reboot midway, no forced reboot. It's reliable and works well.
