For a 6 inch chem light it does a reasonable job, at $9/12 (75 cents each) it's a great value. The green is bright enough to light up a 10 x 12 foot room. for at least 12 hours at normal room temperature (as with all chem-lights, temperature affects light output). It might not be bright enough to read more than 3ft away, but you won't stumble in the dark (even after 18 hours I could still see well enough to navigate the room it's hanging in).
