I originally wrote a 5 star review saying this is the ONLY hub that stays permanently connected to your MacBook Yes, it detaches easily The hub was ALWAYS on, even when my MacBook was off for hours, which made me worry about how much battery was being used. After measuring the battery drain overnight with and without the hub, I found that this hub used 11% of my battery 8 hours hours *on its own* In other words if you leave your laptop unplugged for a day it will use a third of your battery NHO is not acceptable there was no reason for them to turn on the light - it does nothing so I would only recommend this hub if you leave your MacBo plugged in normally most of the time, if you travel with it this is e a terrible drain on the battery. Unfortunately I now have to bring this back and look for another hub that doesn't turn on a totally unnecessary light.
