Works great Tivo - DVD - Radio Sirus

I have 3 of these devices. Family room and kitchen 1 are for DVD viewing, same for FR and kitchen viewing. I used a slightly different one. I only use the audio section to distribute the audio output from the Sirius Starmate (with 3.5mm to RCA cable) to a Dist amplifier and then 3 outputs, 1 in FR next to the Sirius Starmate for the sound system (FR and monoblock amplifiers in the basement for the PA system 1st floor) 1 for MBR and 1 for office. This allows the Sirius radio to play in the MBR without having to turn on the FR sound system and add the bureau on the stereo input instead of using the FM receiver part (in the previous setup the last pair of monoblock amps gave out to the A/V balun on Cat5 only on the MBR). You can use the same concept to have a CD or MP3 player in multiple rooms with A/V over Cat5 and dist AMP. I have an old pair of expensive audio only over Cat5 (110.00 per pair) and a pair of StarTech A/V over Cat5 baluns (StarTech.com COMPUTPEXTA Composite Video Extender over Cat 5 with audio). Both are great for audio, reviews are good for video too (allows multiple A/V rooms to be used without coax). I mounted mine on the back of a Bello AV stand, I used 10-32 bolts and nuts and a 3/8" nut for the stand. I have never used them and wanted air to circulate around the whole unit. This is a typical belt and braces setup I usually make, not a manufacturer requirement. I can't say it was necessary or better, but that's the way it's set up.

Pros
  • DVD-R/Rw and DVD+R/Rw playback and recording
Cons
  • Negative available
