Sturdy hard plastic case. When all the screws are tightened it really snaps in place and looks pretty good. I've seen other reviews saying the size of the drill bits should be increased for a hole being drilled, but I wouldn't recommend this. The hole to be drilled is for a screw that needs to be cut into the metal of the truck body, not for a bolt that goes through. The manufacturer recommends a 1/8-inch drill bit, so stick with it. Like other reviewers, I had trouble getting the clamp that is also used for a bolt behind the front fender flares. I solved this problem by removing the extra factory screw, which is just above the two screws you unscrew as instructed. This allowed me to move the liner just enough to allow my hand to slide my hand past the liner and down to where you need to drill that hole. When I reinstalled the factory bolts on the secure fender, the outer bolt kept coming loose and I thought I screwed it up. In desperation I pressed hard on the screw and she reattached the mounting clip and was able to securely grip the threads encounters a feel problem a screw doesn't capture.
