Disappointed - Exterior Accessories

This is one of the few times I don't give a good review. Once this bracket is in place, the spare tire actually pushes into the antenna and flexes it severely. I actually had to buy spacers to move the hoop away from the antenna. Other people have actually reshaped the bracket or cut out the tire holder to move the bracket further towards the tailgate. It's a bad design and I don't feel like the engineers installed it and then put the tire back on. As we all know, the antenna cannot touch other materials, in order to get a good signal, it must be free-floating. This problem can easily be solved by drilling a hole in the bracket a little closer to the rod bracket. This space is there for it to really happen in the factory. It should also be noted that my tire is a standard OEM size, not a larger, upgraded one. I could understand if someone put fatter or bigger tires on the rear and the mount doesn't work as intended.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Everything OK
