Review on Enhanced Dimensional Stability in Cc3D's Temperature Adaptive Filament by Caleb Quade

Revainrating 5 out of 5

are you warm blooded – that will tell you!

I would say it's really cool but when I touch it it says I'm warm! - Changes the temperature by 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Prints like any other PLA. My printers are in a small enclosed space and it was fun watching the color change as the space warmed up during printing. The bottom of the spool was purple, and as the filament was lifted over the printer where it was warmer, it turned pink. This material changes temperature (and therefore color) fairly quickly, and conduction of heat through the body of the material is fairly slow. I can make out rough fingerprints on it within minutes of the words. I once had a piece of this behind my computer and it turned pink - I didn't even realize there was a fan in there. I hope they come with more temperature ranges. in the future. But it's kind of a comfortable range because that's when it reacts to body temperature and when the room becomes "uncomfortable".

Pros
  • 3D Printing Filament
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
