Review on πŸ”¦ Dorman 924-798 Interior Light Switch 2 Pack for Acura / Honda Models - Reliable Replacement Switches by Nathan Guzman

Don't worry: only a short-term solution.

Accord 2004 front map light. If the light stops coming on when you open the door but still works when you turn the light on manually with the button, that's the part that's failed. It fits perfectly and seems like a much better/cheaper option than replacing the entire card backlight assembly at 4x the price. It's true, it was easy to access and replace, and it really solved the problem. He got a star for that. However, they don't last at all! The factory switch lasted 10 years before failing. I bought a replacement set and was pleasantly surprised when everything worked. I replaced both switches because I figured I wouldn't need to replace another one anytime soon. But one only worked for 6 months, and the second stopped working a few months after that. Hoping I had a bad batch beforehand, I ordered again. Now, 3 months later, it's wrong again. Definitely going to buy a Honda map light assembly now after spending money and time replacing these switches multiple times. Buy them if you are a used car dealer. Don't buy them if you want them to last more than a few months. I should note that I suspect dimming may be the reason for their rapid failure. When I close the door, all the lights immediately dim a little and go out after a few moments. Once initially dimmed and until fully off, the switches make a slight buzz (slight but noticeable compared to the factory). If your machine is only on and off then they may be able to last longer.
